Manitoba Farm Strategic Recruitment Initiative

This category is for those experienced young farmers who want to enter in the farming ventures in Manitoba. The applicant to apply for the Farm strategy should have visited Manitoba for a week before applying for the application.

Rest Qualifications include

  • The applicant must be not be aged more than 40 years.
  • Has a minimum personal net worth of CDN$3,50,000
  • Makes a minimum equity investment of CDN$1,50,000
  • Has 3 years of farm ownership or farm management experience.

The Application process:

  • To conduct extensive farm business and rural lifestyle-related research, the applicant must visit  Manitoba for a period of not less than five business days
  • After the applicant’s Exploratory Visit, his Nomination Application together with all supporting documents will be submitted.
  • After the Nomination Application is received, candidate is called for an interview.
  • After the interview, the FSRI Nomination Application will be assessed according to FSRI and MPNP-B criteria. If candidate are approved for nomination, then he/she will be instructed to sign a Deposit Agreement worth CDN$75,000.
  • Upon receiving of signed receipt of a Deposit Agreement and deposit of CDN $75,000, next candidate will be instructed to submit their original Permanent Resident application to the Central Intake Office (CIO) in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada.
  • Upon further scrutiny, the CIO will forward the application to a designated Canadian Visa Office abroad that will give instructions on medical examinations, security clearances and, if the results are positive, the Permanent Residence Visa is issued.
  • When arriving as a Permanent Resident in Manitoba, the candidate is required to contact the Business Immigration and Investment Branch within 30 days to schedule an appointment to meet with a Business Settlement Officer.
  • Last, the candidate must establish his/her venture and fulfill the investment requirements as described in his/her Deposit Agreement within two years of landing in Manitoba. Once the investment in his farm business has been verified, the CDN$75,000 Cash Deposit will be returned to the applicant.
